Exercising to lose weight can sometimes be such a hassle. Running, lifting weights, crunches, and sit-ups can get boring real quick. But did you know that there is a way on how to burn the most calories in the bedroom?

How to Burn the Most Calories in the Bedroom

When the topic of exercise comes up, people usually think of activities such as running, lifting weights, or sports. But when the topic of sex comes up, people don’t usually associate it with exercise or weight loss.

But if you think about it, sex is indeed a form of exercise. First off, it’s a form of physical activity. You and your partner get moving, your heart starts pumping blood throughout your body, and you also get your lungs working hard during sex.

And if we’re going to categorize sex under a form of exercise, it would be counted as an aerobic exercise. What this means is that it causes your heart rate to go up, and increases your body’s demand for oxygen. It’s basically a form of cardiovascular conditioning that can be similar to climbing up the stairs or going for a jog.

When you take all of these things into consideration, sex definitely counts as a legitimate form of exercise!

How Many Calories are Burned During Sexercise?

Now the question is how efficient is sex when it comes to burning calories? After all, when it comes to fitness, it is important for people to have some idea of how much calories they are burning.

On average, men burned about 100 calories during 30 minutes of sex, while women burned 69 calories. In comparison, running for 30 minutes burns about 276 calories in men, while it burns about 213 calories in women.

If you look at the numbers, sex might seem like an inefficient way of working out. However, people can have sex in different ways, and different positions can be more of a workout compared to others.

In addition, you have to remember that sex also has other benefits aside from simply helping a person lose weight.

Sex is a pleasurable experience, and it helps strengthen a couple’s intimacy. Most people are also interested in sex, while others might not have the same feelings about running or jogging.

Is There Anything to be Worried About?

Similar to other forms of exercise, you can indeed overexert yourself during sex. Sex can even trigger angina or heart pain, especially if a person is not physically fit or not in particularly good shape.

This is why just like other forms of exercise, you need to ease yourself into sex. If you have heart problems or are recovering from a heart attack, it might be a good idea to take things slowly at first, in order to avoid having any serious problems during sex.

But so long as you are in adequate shape, and you don’t have any heart problems, there’s nothing that you need to worry about when it comes to sex.

How Can You Turn Sex into Exercise?

Here are some ways to not just help you burn more calories during sex, but to also make things more exciting!

    Focus on foreplay

When it comes to sex, foreplay is very important. Foreplay helps get the both of you in the mood, and also acts as sort of a warm-up exercise before sex.

There’s really no need to rush things, so take your time when engaging in foreplay. Not only does it improve intimacy between you and your partner, but it also increases your physical activity during sex.

So the next time you and your partner are in the mood for sex, don’t forget foreplay.

Don’t be afraid to try new things

Trying out different sex positions not only makes things interesting in the bedroom, but it also helps you work out different sets of muscles.

If you and your partner really want a workout, try out some positions where both of you are moving. This way, both of you are engaging in more physical activity compared to something like the missionary position for example.

Of course, take care to not overexert your body or hurt yourself when trying out new sex positions. Take it slow, and ease yourselves into it.

    Switch it up

In some relationships, one person can be more dominant than the other, especially in bed. So, to make things more exciting and add more physical activity, why not switch it up?

If you’re normally more passive when it comes to sex, why not try being in a more dominant position instead? The same goes for your partner.

This way, both of you can try new experiences, and can equally engage in vigorous exercise during sex.

It doesn’t always need to be in the bedroom

When we’re talking about how to burn the most calories in the bedroom, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the only place that you can have sex. To spice things up and turn your intimate moments into more of a workout, why not try doing it in different places?

For example, there are certain positions that you can do in the shower, in the kitchen, or even in your living room. This not only makes things more exciting but also helps you work out different muscle groups while you’re having sex!

Hopefully, these tips can help you turn sex into a great workout, as well as improve your relationship and sex life.
