Commissioner Dexter Acosta Galban earned his Doctor of Medicine and Master in Business Administration (MD-MBA) double degree from the Ateneo de Manila University after completing his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from the University of the Philippines Manila. Certified for Leadership and Management in Health by the University of Washington, he is currently pursuing his Masters in Public Management from the Ateneo de Manila University.

As a public servant in government, he serves as Commissioner of the Commission on Population & Development (POPCOM) under the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). In the private sector, he leads both Alaga Health Inc. and Experto PlayLabs International Consultancy as Chief Executive Officer and Founder.  He also shares his expertise as the national adviser, mentor, and/or consultant of several national and international NGOs, civil society groups, and patient networks.
