Important Vitamins for Toddlers to Increase Height

Height isn’t always something we can control, especially when it comes to children. Of course, this relies significantly on the genetic makeup of a child, which means that it isn’t within your power as a parent or theirs as a child to choose how tall they want to be. However, giving children the right kind of food and vitamins that can support their growth is still highly important. What are the best vitamins for toddlers to increase their height? Read below to know more!

Best vitamins for toddlers to increase height

Genetics is the most significant factor that can affect a child growing up and getting taller. Each child grows at their own pace, and this eventually increases as they approach puberty. But insufficient nutrition can still hold back a child’s growth, preventing them from attaining ideal height.

This is why providing them food rich in nutrients is essential in supporting your children as they grow. But what are these nutrients?

    Vitamin D

Vitamin D plays a crucial role in supplying nutrients for the bones and proper growth. This vitamin is excellent to pair with calcium, as it aids in the absorption process of calcium in the body. Vitamin D deficiency can cause weaker bones, problems in growth, and it can impact height significantly.

The best food you can give that’s rich in vitamin D is milk. Fish like tuna, salmon, mackerel are also good sources. Orange juice and soy milk are also some examples of food rich in vitamin D.

    Vitamin B

Another that’s considered as one of the best vitamins for toddlers to increase height is vitamin B. Similar to vitamin D, vitamin B can impact a child’s height significantly. It can also help children have consistent, healthy appetites as well as proper nerve function.

Some of the food that has vitamin B are whole grains like brown rice and barley, poultry, meat, fish, and even dairy products. You can also give your children fruits like oranges, bananas, and avocados if they don’t like leafy vegetables like broccoli or spinach.

    Proteins

Protein has shown to have an effect on IGF-1, which is a hormone that is in charge of regulating a child’s growth. Protein is vital when it comes to building and developing muscles in the body. A protein deficiency can cause stunted growth.

Beans, poultry, and yogurt are some of the few examples of food that you can feed your child to help them get their daily requirement of protein. Milk, seafood, meat like pork and chiken, and beef are also some other options that are very rich in protein.

    Carbohydrates

Carbs are vital in a child’s diet, mainly because it helps in growth. Carbs provide energy to the body, which makes it very essential to a child’s diet. We also need it in other synthesis of other biochemical compounds.

The best carbohydrates to include in a child’s diet are whole-grain foods. These can be cereal and wheat, which come from organic and healthy sources. Sugar carbohydrates may cause a child to be at risk for childhood obesity.

    Minerals

As mentioned before, calcium is an important contribution to a child’s overall physical health because it can help make bones strong. But other minerals found in food are also supportive of a child’s growth. These are iron, phosphorus, manganese, magnesium, iodine, and fluoride – all of which are capable of enhancing a child’s development.

A few examples you can include in your kid’s diet are to have snacks like nuts and seeds, as these are rich in a lot of minerals. Eggs, beans, avocados are also some other options you can give them.

    Healthy Diet, Healthy Growth

A balanced diet can bring more than just consistency in a child’s appetite. This can help them reach their peak in terms of growing and maturing, without being held back by anything. A good three meals per day can bring so much more to children, and that includes a boost in their growth.

Also, don’t forget adequate and quality sleep as well as nap times since production or synthesis of Vitamin D is increased during this time.

However, it’s important to remember that you can’t actually control how tall your child grows. When it comes to the best vitamins for toddlers to increase height, you may consult your child’s pediatrician.
