Wheatgrass (genus Agropyron), as the name suggests, is the young grass of a wheat plant. This grass is typically thick and somewhat resembles straw or hay – only, it’s bright green in color. But why is wheatgrass good for health?

In a study involving patients with active ulcerative colitis, researchers divided the participants into two groups. One group took 100 ml of wheatgrass juice while the other group had the same amount of placebo. They received their respective remedies daily for a month.

At the end of the study, the researchers noted that those who took the wheatgrass juice remedy showed “significant reductions in disease activity” compared to those who received a placebo.
