Tyrothricin is an antibiotic peptide complex produced and extracted from Brevibacillus parabrevis. It is commonly used for sore throat, skin infections, and ear infections.
Appropriately apply the medication based on its dosage form. For lozenges, take the medication by mouth and allow it to dissolve slowly without chewing or swallowing it. For the topical route, apply a thin layer of the prepared solution onto the affected area. Do not apply the medication into the nasal cavity or closed body cavities.
Tyrothricin is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store Tyrothricin in the bathroom or the freezer. There may be different brands of Tyrothricin that may have different storage needs. It is important to always check the product package for instructions on storage, or ask your pharmacist. For safety, you should keep all medicines away from children and pets.

Discontinue this drug and notify your doctor if you experience flu-like symptoms followed by a painful rash that blisters or looks like your skin is peeling.

For the local treatment of oropharyngeal infections: take 4-10 mg per day in the form of a lozenge.

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.
If you miss a dose of Tyrothricin, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
