Dr. Eileen M. Manalo graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and took her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital. She was a visiting consultant at the National University Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore and National Hospital at Hanoi where she took further studies in Assisted Reproductive Technology. She underwent training for robotic surgery at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. More recently, she also completed her masters degree in Biotechnology of Human Assisted Reproduction and Embryology, at The University of Valencia, Spain.
Dr. Manalo is currently a Professor VII at the Department of OB-Gyn of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, where she served as the chief of the section of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility from 2007 to 2013 and from 2015 to 2018, and Chief of Service from 2013 to 2015. She is a founding member and was president of the Philippine Society for Reproductive Medicine in 2009. She served as the youngest president of the Philippine Society for Climacteric Medicine in 2008. She was a former member of the board of trustees of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society. She was a member of the Philippine Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2006-2007, and 2018-2020. She is a founding member and currently vice-president of the newly established Philippine Society for Fertility Preservation (2019-2022). She also served as board of trustees in the Philippine Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy from 2013 to 2018. She is a member of the International Editorial Board and Reviewers of the Fertility and Sterility Journal of Bangladesh. She is currently also an Associate Editor of the official journal of the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction (ASPIRE), Fertility & Reproduction (F&R), and peer reviewer for several international scientific journals including BMC Women’s Health.
She served in the Scientific Committee of the IFSS (2019-2022), and has recently been elected as Assistant Secretary General of the IFSS (International Federation of Fertility Societies) for the years 2022-2025.
She has contributed to several clinical practice guidelines and local book chapters on the Menopause, Infertility, Endometriosis, Myomas and Adenomyosis, PCOS, Abnormal Uterine Bleeding, and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss.
She is a well known fertility and reproductive specialist in the country with a very busy practice. She has delivered many local and international lectures and webinars on Recurrent Pregnancy Loss, Repeated Implantation Failures, Endometriosis and Adenomyosis, PCOS, Premature Ovarian Insufficiency, Menopause and HRT, Androgens in the Menopause, ART, Fertility Preservation and Gynecologic Endoscopy, among others.
