mWell: Bringing Health and Wellness Closer to Filipinos

mWell, a fully-integrated app by Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, has recently won the highly-coveted Best Mobile Innovation for Digital Life Award under the Digital Everything Category in the 2023 Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) held in Barcelona, Spain. This is a big win for the all-Filipino health and wellness mega app, considering the other shortlisted candidates are big names, too, like the Maya app and Ethio telecom and Huawei for Telebirr.

The award means mWell “showcases the very best and most compelling services that allow people to do more through their mobile device and in better ways than ever before.”

mWell is also among the top apps in Google Play Store, Apple App Store, according to App Annie (or data.ai).

Let’s highlight some of mWell app’s best features:

    24/7 On-call Doctors

In need of a medical check-up right this moment? mWell has partner doctors who are online 24/7. You have the option to Consult Now or Consult Later. The app also allows you to get in touch with psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and counselors who can attend to your mental health needs whenever you need them. Before booking, you can immediately see the doctor’s professional fee.

Another great feature is that should you need them, mWell provides e-prescriptions and e-certificates right after the consultation.

    Emergency Care

Unlike other telehealth apps, mWell has an Emergency Care feature where patients can immediately call for an ambulance during urgent situations – 24/7.

    Fitness and Nutrition

Whatever your fitness and nutrition goals are, mWell can be your partner. Key in your details, choose your goals, and let mWell guide you to achieve them. You can watch fitness videos, check out recipes, and find restaurants that serve healthy meals!

    mWellness Score

Regular physical activity and adequate sleep help lower the risk of many chronic diseases. The good news: the app can help measure your steps, physical activity, and even sleep. At mWell, a score of 80 and above points to a healthy physical lifestyle. Try to achieve that score to lower your risk of chronic illnesses.

mWell MD: A Platform for Doctors, Designed by Doctors

True to their mission of bringing healthcare closer to Filipinos, mWell also helps doctors serve more patients nationwide.

Partner-doctors can conveniently do online consultations via the mWell app and have the access to a platform equipped with:

    • Dashboard and analytics to monitor patient history and medical records
    • An appointment booking system for online and office clinics
    • Customized forms and templates with quick text documentation

They can also collaborate with fellow partner-doctors to receive and refer patients. Doctors also receive 100% of their professional fees.

Just recently, mWell held an event called mWell MD Live. Present in the event were MPIC Chief Finance, Risk and Sustainability Officer and mWell CEO Chaye Cabal-Revilla and MPIC President, Chairman and CEO and mWell Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan.

The team introduced the doctor platform and even did a demonstration to highlight some features. Since mWell MD is designed by doctors, it guarantees a seamless experience from signing up, scheduling consults, monitoring patient records, and releasing medical certificates and prescriptions.

Currently, mWell has over 700 partner-doctors. If you’re interested, know that it’s very easy to be a partner-doctor at mWell. Simply head over to their site and sign-up.

    mWell on the Go

mWell acknowledges that many places in the Philippines still lack immediate access to medical facilities. As a response to such needs, they have mWell On The Go, a portable digital clinic in a bag. It has foldable solar panels, as well as a phone and tablet preloaded with the mWell app. The devices are powered by Smart and can be used by patients using passcodes.

Through this, people from far-flung areas can consult a doctor for free should they need a medical check-up.
