What is Lactacyd used for?

Lactacyd is an aqueous solution, which containing surface active substances in collaboration of lactic acid padded with lactoserum (pH 3.5). It is commonly used for the auxiliary treatment of skin diseases caused by bacteria or potentially primary multiple infections.

How should I take Lactacyd?

Lactacyd can be used in the shower or bath as a liquid soap on the external vaginal area.

  • Put a small amount in the palm of your hand and work into a lather;
  • Rinse well under running water.

Lactacyd is very mild and can be used every day, so use it whenever you want to feel fresh and protected.

How do I store Lactacyd?

This product is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store it in the bathroom or the freezer. 

There may be different brands of this drug that may have different storage needs. So, it is important to always check the product package for instructions on storage, or ask your pharmacist. For safety, you should keep all medicines away from children and pets.

You should not flush this product down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. Additionally, it is important to properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist for more details about how to safely discard your product.

What is the dose for an adult?

External daily washing:

Place a small amount of product onto your hands. Gently apply it to the genital area. Rinse thoroughly. Use regularly especially during menstrual periods. 

Internal Vaginal Hygiene (douching): irrigate the vaginal canal up to twice a month, or as directed by your doctor.

Infectious Vaginitis: daily vaginal irrigation during antibiotic treatment.

What is the dose for a child?

The dosage has not been established in pediatric patients. It may be unsafe for your child. It is always important to fully understand the safety of the drug before using. Please consult with your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

How is Lactacyd available?

Lactacyd is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:

  • Feminine wash 5 mL, 60 mL, 150 mL, 250 mL
  • Wet wipes

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
