What is Neopeptine used for?

This medicine is commonly used for the treatment of:

  • Flatulent and fermentative dyspepsia
  • Anorexia
  • Indigestion
  • Heartburn
  • Poor digestion
  • Post-meal abdominal distension
  • Loosening stool in infants and children
  • Malnutrition in children
  • Vomiting in sucking infants

How should I take Neopeptine?

Administer after meals or lactation. It may also be directly administered to mouth or mixed with children’s milk, drinking water or food.

How do I store Neopeptine?

Neopeptine is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store it in the bathroom or the freezer. There may be different brands of Neopeptine that may have different storage needs. It is important to always check the product package for instructions on storage, or ask your pharmacist. For safety, you should keep all medicines away from children and pets.

You should not flush Neopeptine down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. It is important to properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist for more details about how to safely discard your product.

What should I know before using Neopeptine?

Before using this drug, tell your doctor if:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding. This is because, while you are expecting or feeding a baby, you should only take medicines on the recommendation of a doctor.
  • You are taking any other medicines. This includes any medicines you are taking which are available to buy without a prescription, such as herbal and complementary medicines.
  • You have allergy with any of active or inactive ingredients of Neopeptine or other medications.
  • You have any other illnesses, disorders, or medical conditions.

Excessive doses may cause nausea, abdominal cramps or diarrhea. Extremely high doses have been associated with hyperuricosuria and hyperuricemia. Individuals with previous hypersensitivity to any of the components of Neopeptine capsule. Inform the physician of unwanted effects after administering.

What is the dose of Neopeptine for an adult?

Liquid: The recommended dose is 5 mL twice daily.

What is the dose of Neopeptine for a child?

Capsule:

The recommended dose is one cap twice daily after each meal.

Liquid:

Children >1 year: The recommended dose is 5 mL daily in 2 divided doses.

Infants <1 year: The recommended dose is 0.5 mL (about 12 drops) daily in single or 2 divided doses.

Neopeptine Liquid can be mixed with a little water and taken after each meal.

Drops:

Children >1 year: The recommended dose is 0.5 mL (about 12 drops), 2-3 times/day.

Infants <1 year: The recommended dose is 0.5 mL (about 12 drops) daily in single or in 2 divided doses.

How is Neopeptine available?

Neopeptine is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:

  • Neopeptine Cap 10 x 10’s
  • Neopeptine Liquid 60 mL, 100 Ml
  • Neopeptine Drops 15 Ml

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of Neopeptine, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
